Amidst the ever-changing and evolving COVID-19 pandemic, we understand the many concerns around the impact that the virus has on the Canadian society. At Sunrise Farms, we take our obligation to support the health and safety of all our employees, customers and our communities seriously. The continuous supply of high-quality protein products that our customers know and have come to trust remains our commitment.
As part of our critical responsibility in maintaining the food supply to Canadians who are counting on us, Sunrise Farms has been proactively working on the development and implementation of many critical steps to ensure the continued safety and well being of all its employees in all locations. From the outset, Sunrise Farms created a COVID-19 Crisis Management Taskforce comprised of several senior divisional leaders to steer the organization through these difficult times. Some of the key steps and procedures put in place are outlined below.
- Employee screening in all locations prior to entry of the workplace each day
- Mandatory public health self assessment for all employees each day
- Implementation of COVID-19 Officers in all locations who are there to communicate company policy regarding COVID-19 and monitor adherence
- Enhanced sanitation procedures in all locations that includes particular focus on employee welfare areas and high touch areas
- Employee messaging that includes hand washing visual directions in all locations
- No group meetings of 5 persons or more where social distancing cannot be practiced
- No Visitor policy in all locations
- Only essential trades permitted who will be screened similarly to Sunrise Farms Employees
- No travel policy and recommendation for all employees to stay within their local area outside of work
- Ensuring continued availability of PPE gear
- Construction of social distancing applications wherever and whenever possible
- Modified schedules and utilized other available space to ease high congestion times and areas.
We continue to monitor and keep abreast with the information from Public Health Agency of Canada, our local governments and the World Health Organization as we review and modify our safety protocols as the situation.
